Child
At-Risk Evaluation (CARE)
CARE provides
diagnostic examinations and health care for children under investigation
for abuse and entering foster care; a service not otherwise available.
Significant reduction of child abuse and neglect among Hawaii's youngest
and most vulnerable children is a common goal of HFSI & CARE.
Please see this page
for more information on CARE.
Healthy Start Hawaii
Originally conceived created more than 30 years ago in large part by
HFSI Executive Director, Gail Breakey, Healthy Start's child abuse and
neglect prevention services have demonstrated support to at risk families by
preventing child abuse and neglect. Geared toward the the crucial
first three years of a child's life, Healthy Start's home visitation
programs provides education for parents that strengthen interaction with
their child, parent support groups, and other family-building
activities which ultimately result in the
strengthening of the family as a whole.
